朱方泽
Clara Zhu (b. 2000, Xi’an, China)
is a journalist, photographer, and filmmaker whose work navigates memory, identity, and cultural intersections through moving images and photography. With years of studying and practicing in political science, Clara made a deliberate choice to adopt an apolitical, anti-war stance in her life and work. This conviction fuels her aspiration to become a photojournalist covering war and breaking news—someone who documents the world not through ideology, but through human stories, emotion, and unfiltered encounters.
A former ski champion team member, Clara’s journey into visual storytelling began on the slopes and continues across borders, cultures, and human experiences. Her practice is driven by a desire to travel widely, meet people from all walks of life, and better understand how the world operates beyond politics. Photography and journalism are, for her, tools of connection, empathy, and change.
She holds an MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts from Duke University, NC, an LLB in International Political Economy and a BA in Sociology from Peking University, Beijing.
